Firing Service
Clients are responsible for all preparation of shelves and moulds etc and the placing of glass on the shelf or mould.
A firing checklist must be completed for each piece to be fired.
Standard firing fees include Spectrum/Bullseye fuse (including use of shelves) and slump (including mould hire) as well as float glass slump – to a maximum size of 400 mm. Firing fees for other processes, materials and sizes are subject to quote.
Firing fees do not include non-standard mould materials (i.e. fibre board), casting or special items and processes.
Where the firing sequence is non–standard and requires monitoring or supervision – i.e. to terminate at a particular degree of fusing or slumping – the client must be present during the relevant process stages of the firing to provide that monitoring.
We will exercise our best endeavours in undertaking the firing service. The client must identify expected outcomes but also acknowledge that the performance of glass under heat is not always predictable. Subject to statutory provisions such as the Trade Practices Act, we only accept liability for mis-firings due to technical or human failure and such liability is restricted to re-supply of the firing service only.
The firing service does not include the complete processing of a piece where multiple processes are involved, i.e. we do not perform intermediate steps such as preparing a piece to slump after fusing.
